Santa Apolónia Building

This 18th-century building stands out within an architectural setting from the 1980s, demonstrating the importance of preserving the richness of historic Lisbon. Classified as a building of municipal interest, the restoration project prioritized the revitalization of its architectural heritage. The main facade was meticulously preserved, and its original elements and features—including woodwork, traditional tiles (azulejos), and lioz limestone—were replicated on the new floors.

Enhancing the building's historic charm, the spatial organization was redesigned to complement and highlight its unique characteristics. The balance between preserving the original essence and creating modern, functional areas presented a significant challenge, ultimately resulting in a harmonious blend of past and present in this iconic Lisbon landmark.
