Set within the desert landscape of Black Canyon City, the house is conceived as a collection of autonomous volumes, close in scale and organization to a small village. Rather than concentrating the program into a single volume, the proposal fragments it into more enclosed cores dedicated to private spaces, arranged around a central collective area. It is within this structuring void that the living room, kitchen, patios, covered areas, and pool come together, forming the gathering and communal heart of the home.
The implementation follows the topography and seeks to minimize the visual presence of the building. The low height of the volumes, their elementary geometry, and the use of materials matching the tones of the Arizona soil establish a chromatic and tectonic continuity with the surroundings, allowing the house to be perceived as part of the landscape rather than an autonomous object.
The private spaces adopt a more introspective and protected character, while the social core opens generously to the outdoors through glazed planes and covered transition zones. The orientation of the volumes, solar incidence control, and cross ventilation are integrated into the architectural composition itself, responding both to desert climate conditions and the intent to create a home built for gathering and social life.
